I don’t know about you but I love Thanksgiving, possibly one of my favorite holidays! The smell of turkey roasting, pies baking and family gathering to watch the parade and football on TV. It’s a time to gather, appreciate one another and be grateful for all we have. I’m still wishing for a chilly, fall Thanksgiving in Phoenix though.
I was honored to collaborate with World Market and an amazing group of friends on how to create a beautiful World Market Thanksgiving table for your family & friends this season. I find it helpful to first choose a color scheme, traditional or unexpected, think of it as putting together an outfit to dress your table. My friends at Salt and Pepper Moms have fabulous tips when it comes to fashion. And thanks to Just Destiny Mag, the plum, mustard, teal and cream looked amazing with accents of wood, gold and silver sprinkled around the table.
Now for the best part, food & dessert! Baked by Joanna made some delicious treats & recipes. One thing I love to do is share the menu with my guests when the arrive. I often make the traditional Thanksgiving menu but usually add a few new recipes to the mix. So I found this adorable Farmhouse Chalkboard at World Market to create this simple menu.
THANKSGIVING CHALKBOARD MENU
World Market Farmhouse Chalkboard
1. Know what food & desserts you’ll be serving for Thanksgiving.
2. Create a more authentic looking chalkboard by pre-dusting the surface. Rub a good amount of chalk onto the eraser and erase your board (this seems silly but it creates a more modeled surface which I love and you can hide mistakes more easily).
3. Now, just have fun writing your menu on the board. I added the phrase “be grateful” to the top of my menu since the holiday is all about being grateful.
Once your menu is finished, prop it on your buffet or hang it on the wall. I just love this DIY lamp by Dream Book Design, so simple and makes such a statement. And as a little bonus, send your guests home with fabulous party favors from A Night Owl Blog.
Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
